| Africussion, now playing their sixth season together, bring the thrill of African drumming and more than just a splash of colour to any event. | ||
| The rhythms are mainly traditional West African although those very traditions also dictate that the rhythms are continually evolving - a process adopted by Africussion in orchestrating their performance. |
| |
| Contemporary pieces are also played, some West African, others composed in the Westcountry | ||
| Africussion perform at a wide variety of events, from local festivals to private functions and from stage performances to an encouraging beat drummed ‘al fresco’ at the Plymouth Marathon. | ||
|
|
Africussion will also facilitate workshops and perform interactively with an audience – bringing drums, percussion, shakers and boomwhackers for people to play. | |
| Africussion are based at The Soundhouse, Estover Community College and gratefully acknowledge the support of the team there over the years! | ||
|
| ||
| The Africussion Open Evening drumming workshops are held on the First Thursday of every month at The Soundhouse from 8pm ‘til 10.30pm. | ||
