Africussion, now playing their sixth season together, bring the thrill of African drumming and more than just a splash of colour to any event.
The rhythms are mainly traditional West African although those very traditions also dictate that the rhythms are continually evolving - a process adopted by Africussion in orchestrating their performance.
Contemporary pieces are also played, some West African, others composed in the Westcountry
Africussion perform at a wide variety of events, from local festivals to private functions and from stage performances to an encouraging beat drummed ‘al fresco’ at the Plymouth Marathon.
	Africussion will also facilitate workshops and perform interactively with an audience – bringing drums, percussion, shakers and boomwhackers for people to play.
Africussion are based at The Soundhouse, Estover Community College and gratefully acknowledge the support of the team there over the years!
The Africussion Open Evening drumming workshops are held on the First Thursday of every month at The Soundhouse from 8pm ‘til 10.30pm.
